The season is here…let’s go!!!!
We had our first tryouts at KVHS yesterday. There was a excellent turn out for the boys side this year with 34 players attending the first tryout. The varsity team is looking good with 15 players that have a legitimate chance of making the team and being solid contributors. One of interesting decisions for head coach Dennis Rollins will be the return of senior guard Jesse Bartlett. After taking a year off from basketball, Jesse is back and looking like his old self.
The JV boys team is definitely going through a rebuilding phase with only four returning players, and the only starter from last year’s team, Simon Gagnon, having a good chance of making the varsity team. Regardless, the incoming freshmen class is very talented including a core group that won the BNB Middle School title with QMS last season and the Bantam title with the KVBA Bantam rep team.
Next tryout is Tuesday October 23. This will be the final combined session. After that sesion we’ll split into seperate groups. Teams should be picked by Thursday.
