This weekend the two New Brunswick Summer Games team will take on the Saskatchewan Canada Games team at Bernice McNaughton High School in Moncton. The girls take the court at 10:00 am while the boys hit the floor at 1:00 pm.
For the lady’s team this is an important test as the Saskatchewan team is in the same pool at the Games. Although it’s difficult to compare scores, especially with provincials teams, the Nova Scotia squad recently won a western tournament beating Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and the Territories (all of which as in NB’s pool) along the way and NB has already beaten the Blue Nosers. A win this weekend would be a good validation that NB is a medal contender.
Once again if we compare scores, the NB men will be in tough as the Saskatchewan men beat the Nova Scotia men’s team by nine last weekend and the Nova Scotia team has beaten NB twice already.
