Unfortunately the girls from Rothesay and KVHS came up a little short in their bid for NBIAA provincial championships.

The Crusaders looked good for the first twenty minutes, hitting shots and playing their normal tough defense. Problem is the game is forty minutes long and MacNaughton really turned up the the pressure to begin the 3rd quarter. KV had a lot of uncharacteristic turnovers and when they did beat the pressure appearred to be too tentative. On the up side, this very young team had a great season under first year head coach Bill Mayberry and has strong core group returning next season. I’m sure this experience will serve them well next season and the girls will be hungry to get back to the AC.

In the AA final the Redhawks were never able to find a hot shooter (or even a warm shooter) at any point during the game. Not sure if it was because of nerves, not use to playing in an arena, or the physical the game was (it was very rough), but the girls just could not make shots from the floor or from the foul line. To the teams credit, they completed hard until the final buzzer and despite the poor shooting percentage, they stayed within striking distance the entire game.
